Etna Bianco Nerina 2020 Girolamo Russo
Etna Bianco "Nerina" by Girolamo Russo is the label that Giuseppe dedicated to his mother Nerina. It is a rich white wine with character from the Etna area, made from Carricante grapes plus other indigenous vines found between 650 and 750 metres above sea level, on the northern side of Etna.
The vines are worked according to organic farming principles, from a very particular and multifaceted terroir, which gives the wines great minerality. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in barriques for 8 days, with a short 24-hour maceration on the skins. Maturation takes place in used barriques for 6 months, plus a further 2 months in stainless steel and 6 months of bottle ageing before release.
Etna Bianco "Nerina" Girolamo Russo expresses a beautiful straw yellow colour with golden hues, while the nose offers hints of white fruit, citrus and smoky notes. The taste is very mineral and sapid, balanced by a nice softness and richness. full and soft.
