Etna Rosso Munjebel CS Chiusa Spagnolo 2018 Cornelissen
Etna Rosso Munjebel CS Chiusa Spagnolo 2018 is a red wine produced using natural methods by Cornelissen. It is made from pure Nerello Mascalese from the Contrada Zottorino, specifically in an area called Chiusa Spagnola, from 80-year-old vines at an altitude of 620 metres.
According to the philosophy adopted by the Belgian Frenk Cornelissen, based on total respect for nature and balance with it and the hand of man, he chooses not to use any chemical substances and to apply minimal interventions both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in glass-resin vats with maceration on the skins for 50 days. The wine then matures for 18 months in glass-resin vats plus 18 months in the bottle and is bottled without filtration or sulphites. The decision not to use wood for ageing is made to ensure that the wine reflects as faithfully as possible the characteristics of the terroir of origin.
The Etna Rosso Munjebel CS Chiusa Spagnolo 2018 has a light ruby red colour, with slight garnet hues. The nose expresses hints of raspberry, strawberries, red berries, spices and wild herbs of the Mediterranean. The taste is persistent and deep, energetic, with important tannins and a savoury finish.
