Fixin 2019 Domaine Philippe Livera
Fixin 2019 is a Burgundy red wine produced using natural methods by Domaine Philippe Livera. The wine is made from a blend of two estate plots in Fixin. 'En Olivier' is located at the tree line at an altitude of 960 feet, next to the premier cru 'Les Arvelets'.
La Place" is located in the heart of the village, halfway up the slope. The soils mix limestone and clay; it is believed that the white marl in both lots gives the liquid a nice mineral note. The wine is made using natural farming methods that aim to express the different terroirs in an authentic way.
Fermentations are spontaneous using only indigenous yeasts, while the wine is aged in French oak barrels for between 11 and 18 months depending on the vintage. This 2019 Fixin expresses aromas of plum, black pepper and liquorice on the nose, for a deep, mineral and fruity sip.
