Fleurie "Les Moriers" 2010 Jules Desjourneys
Fleurie Les Moriers Rouge from Jules Desjourneys is a red wine produced in the Beaujolais region of France. This wine is made from Gamay grapes grown in the Les Moriers vineyard, located in the Fleurie sub-zone. The vineyard was founded in the 19th century by Jules Desjourneys and since then the Desjourneys family continues to manage it, following sustainable and traditional farming methods.
The Fleurie Les Moriers Rouge has an intense and complex bouquet with notes of ripe berries, such as cherries and strawberries, and sweet spices such as cinnamon. On the palate, it is surprisingly balanced and smooth, with light tannicity and pleasant acidity. Its light structure makes it ideal to accompany light meat dishes, such as chicken or rabbit, or to be enjoyed alone as an aperitif.
As for the production technique, the grapes are harvested by hand and undergo fermentation with indigenous yeasts for about 10-12 days. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 6-8 months, which gives it a roasted and vanilla note. The production process of this wine respects strict quality and sustainability standards, thus guaranteeing a high quality product that respects the environment.
