Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Du Fonteny Monopole 2018 Bruno Clair
The 2018 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Du Fonteny Monopole is a fine French wine produced by Domaine Bruno Clair. Clair is one of the most interesting names in the Burgundy scene and this Gevrey Chambertin comes from renowned Monopole, which turns out to be one of the spearheads of the Domaine's production. The soil is poor and made of white clay in the upper part, and red clay in the lower part of the vineyard, near the climat of "Chambertin"; the rock here is limestone and gives interesting mineral aromas to the wine. The Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Du Fonteny Monopole shows a bright ruby red color; the nose expresses a majestic bouquet of berries, such as raspberries and strawberries, delicately floral and with notes of candied orange. In the mouth it is subtle and refined but full at the same time. A classic version of Gevrey Chambertin, elegant and gentle.
