Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Clos Pieur" 2019 Domaine J. & J.Louis Trapet

This 2019 Gevrey Chambertin 1er cru "Clos Prieur" is another label of great class and finesse produced by Domaine Trapet. The Pinot Noir grapes come from the renowned Prieur vineyard, located between the climates of La Perrière and the Cherbaudes, which in good vintages where the grapes manage to ripen properly, reaches qualitative heights hardly achievable by the other 1er cru of the appellation, comparable to a Grand Cru. It is an intense red to the nose where it expresses a bouquet of black currants and dark cherries, toasted hints of cocoa and coffee, earthy and smoky notes. The taste is deep and already pretty balanced despite its young age, but it will give its best with some years of aging in cellar.
