Grappa 2009 Levi
Grappa di Romano Levi is considered among the finest ever produced. Produced in extremely small batches, each bottle bore a completely unique hand-drawn label. Among the artistic subjects dear to Romano's heart was the recurring appearance of La Donna Selvatica (The Wild Woman), most sought after by collectors.
Romano sadly passed away in 2008 and the family business continued thanks to his wife Lidia, before she passed away in 2011. Today the distillery is owned by Luigi Schiappapietra, a close friend of the late Romano Levi, and offers a small portfolio of wines produced by Master Distiller Fabrizio Sobrero.
Romano Levi's Grappas are made according to traditional methods that come from rural knowledge. They are straightforward, authentic, they are not softened to suit fashion, and that is why they are so valuable.
