The 2019 Hermitage is a great wine from the Rhone Valley produced by Yann Chave. From 100% Syrah grapes from 40-year-old vines, it ages 12 months in demi-muid plus six months in steel tanks. It expresses an intense nose of ripe fruit, spices, licorice and smoky notes for a tannic and deep sip, elegant at the same time.

Hermitage 2019 Yann Chave

Hermitage 2019 is a great wine from the Rhone Valley produced by Yann Chave. The grapes come from the Hermitage area, the renowned northern appellation of the Rhone Valley characterized by a very particular territory and a climate unlike any other appellation in the region.

Vines are protected from cold northern winds and even towards the full south the vineyard does not suffer from drought because the roots of old syrah, marsanne and roussanne plants are able to go deep. This wine is made only from the best Syrah grapes, it is aged in 600l demi-muid for 12 months followed by 6 months in steel tanks before bottling.

It expresses a luminous ruby red color, while the nose, after a few minutes, offers elegant aromas of blackberry jam, spices, balsamic and smoked notes. The taste is ample and generous, with important tannins and a nice finesse.
