Hermitage Blanc Blanche 2018 J.L Chave Sélection
Hermitage Blanc Blanche 2018 is a white wine from the northern Rhône region produced by Domaine Jean-Louis Chave, labelled 'J.L Chave Sélection'. This wine, unlike Domaine Jean-Louis Chave's Hermitage Blanc, is made from grapes that do not come from the estate's own vineyards, yet still undergoes Chave's meticulous quality control, with the intention of creating a range of wines of excellent quality but at more affordable prices.
This fine wine is a blend of 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne, from vines that are around 50-60 years old from the lieu-dit 'Maison Blanche' at the top of the Hermitage hill.
Fermentation takes place in barriques as does ageing, for a period of 18 to 24 months. The 2018 'Blanche' Hermitage Blanc has a spicy aromatic profile and a consistent mouthfeel, predisposed to ageing for up to ten years.
