La Grande Rue Grand Cru 2009 Domaine Francois Lamarche
"La Grande Rue" is the jewel in the crown of Domaine Lamarche's production. The vineyard dates back to the 15th century and has been in the hands of the Lamarche family since 1933, when it was given as a wedding gift to Henri Lamarche (the current owner, grandfather of Nicole Lamarche) by his uncle Edouard.
It has been classified Grand Cru since 1991 and is situated between the vineyards of La Romanée-Conti, La Romanée and Romanée-Saint-Vivant to the north and La Tâche to the south, with which it shares geology and exposure. A series of favourable combinations such as low yields, perfect ripening of the grapes and meticulous attention to achieving the highest quality, result in wines of incredible elegance, quality and aromatic concentration.
"La Grande Rue" from Domaine Francois Lamarche is a wine of great elegance and nobility, characterised by a concentrated dark ruby colour, aromas of ripe cherries, spices and flowers and a refined, concentrated and eternal sip.
