La Selezione Le Cese 2019 Collecapretta
Selezione 'Le Cese' 2019 is a natural red wine produced by Collecapretta, a small artisanal winery located in the municipality of Spoleto, Umbria, whose wines represent one of the best interpretations of natural wine in Italy. This label is obtained from the best selection of the estate's own Sangiovese grapes, cultivated in the hills on clay soil using the espalier method, a traditional training system used by Spoleto farmers.
Produced with total respect for the terroir and traditions, this wine ferments spontaneously with maceration on the skins for 8 days, then matures in glass-cement vats for 2 years and then for a further 18 months in used 500L barrels, without any use of chemicals.
Ruby red in colour with garnet hues, Collecapretta's 'Le Cese' Selection is a rich and elegant wine that does not lose that rusticity typical of the Collecapretta winery. The nose expresses earthy aromas of dried flowers, ripe red fruit and hints of Mediterranean scrub, while the palate is rich and elegant, with a silky tannic texture and a long, creamy finish. A wonderful wine, as good and authentic as few others.
