Langhe Nebbiolo 2021 Francesco Versio
It was 2012 when Francesco Versio, for years Bruno Giacosa's cellarer, started working on his own two small vineyards that belonged to his grandfather, in the commune of Neive. According to many, this young producer is destined to become one of the new big names of Langa.
His wines are all characterised by great elegance, as is this Nebbiolo 2021, which has nothing to envy Barbaresco, although it is certainly lighter and more delicate. The grapes come from the vineyards of Neive San Cristoforo and Currà. The wine ferments in steel with brief maceration on the skins, and matures for 6 months in large casks plus 10 months in cement.
Francesco Versio's Nebbiolo 2021 is a wine with intense aromas of plum, cherry, violet and delicate spices. The taste is fresh, full-bodied and with silky but structured tannins.
