Langhe Nebbiolo "Ester Canale Rosso" Magnum 2017 Giovanni Rosso
Langhe Nebbiolo 2017 Ester Canale Rosso is a fine wine from Piedmont produced by Giovanni Rosso in Serralunga d'Alba. The Nebbiolo grapes used to make this bottle come from the same parcel as the very famous Barolo Vigna Rionda, one of the most important red wines from Piedmont and Italy.
The grapes are carefully selected and then fermented in cement tanks for 23 days with daily pumping over and délestage carried out mid-fermentation. The wine is then aged for about 12 months in 25 hl French oak barrels from the Forest of Fontainebleau. Intense ruby red in colour, it expresses a penetrating and complex nose of wild berries, dog rose and sweet spices. The entrance in the mouth is elegant and soft, yet structured.
It has a velvety tannin and a persistent finish with light notes of liquorice. The Nebbiolo "Ester Canale" is a wine for connoisseurs, from a producer (Giovanni Rosso), who more than others was able to elevate the Nebbiolo when in the 80's he decided to restructure all the vineyards and experiment with new cultivation techniques, with the aim of producing high quality wines that faithfully reflect their territory.
