Le Pergole Torte 2003 Montevertine
Le Pergole Torte is a fine Tuscan wine produced by Montevertine. It is one of the most sought-after and renowned Italian wines, born almost by chance and then presented at Vinitaly where it was a great success.
Le Pergole Torte Montevertine is made from Sangiovese grapes from the 2.5 hectares of the total 18 owned by the winery. After a careful selection of the grapes, fermentation in cement tanks is then followed by malolactic fermentation. Aging instead includes 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels, 12 months in Allier barriques and another 6 months in bottle.
Montevertine Le Pergole Torte shows a beautiful bright ruby red; the nose is striking for its richness and complexity of red fruit, spices, cocoa and coffee roasting and mineral notes in the background. An elegant and at the same time structured wine, harmonious, persistent and destined for a very long life.
