Mâcon-Verzé 2020 Domaine Thibert
The Mâcon-Verzé 2020 by Domaine Thibert is a refined white wine that captures the essence of the Verzé terroir in Burgundy. The vineyard is located on a gentle, well-drained slope, with dark brown soils developed in Jurassic chalky white limestone. The soil composition, featuring varying depths of clay and high limestone content, contributes to the wine’s complexity and distinctive minerality.
In appearance, it has a bright straw-yellow color. The nose reveals a fresh and enticing bouquet of ripe citrus and fresh fruit aromas, complemented by delicate floral notes. On the palate, the wine is rich yet balanced, with a rounded body underscored by a fine mineral undertone that enhances its persistence and vibrancy.
Vinification is carefully balanced: 10% of the wine is aged in barrels, adding subtle complexity, while the remaining 90% is aged in stainless steel vats for 9-11 months to preserve freshness and purity. The wine is lightly filtered before bottling to maintain its aromatic and structural integrity.
Ageing Recommendations: best enjoyed within 3-5 years, to experience its full evolution.
Pairings: perfect with seafood dishes, shellfish, white meats, and fresh cheeses. Its freshness and versatility also make it ideal for outdoor gatherings or aperitifs.
