Marsannay Longeroies 2021 Maison Romane
This Marsannay Longeroies comes to us from the climat of the same name in the commune of Marsannay-la-Côte, at the southern end of the Route des Grands Crus in Burgundy. The Pinot Noir grapes come from a single vineyard parcel at the top of the climat.
The soil is composed of limestone marls and red clays, perfect for giving Pinot Noir aromatic complexity and structure. After manual selection of the grapes, they are destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts, without any additions.
After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 12 months in used French oak barrels to refine the profile without covering the fruit.
The result is a bright, inviting ruby red. The nose has intense aromas of berries, cherry and pleasant notes of underbrush. The palate is fresh and fruity, with velvety tannins and savory finish. A versatile wine, excellent with red meats, game, and medium-aged cheeses.
