Montevertine 2016
Montevertine 2016 is a Tuscan red wine produced by the Montevertine winery. Montevertine is the finesse and personality of Chianti Sangiovese, expressed in one of its best forms.
Its success is due, in fact, to its extraordinary qualities of complexity and refinement, which have paid homage to a winery, Montevertine, and to a land, that of Chianti Classico. To be more precise, the winery is located in Radda in Chianti, set among magical hills painted by vineyards. The sunshine of the Tuscan land is translated into a glass of this red wine, which also brings back that magical charm of its land that makes it unique not only in Italy, but also in the rest of the world.
Rosso "Montevertine" is obtained from a blend of grapes that follows one of the blends traditionally made for Chianti Classico, namely 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Colorino. The grapes come from a vineyard area of 2.5 hectares, defined by rows with south-east and south exposure. The harvest is carried out manually and, once transported to the winery, the grapes are pressed and transformed into must. This ferments in cement vats for about twenty days and then matures for about 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
The "Montevertine" wine has a bright and lively ruby red colour. On the nose, the bouquet expresses fruity tones of raspberry, cherry and currant, followed by spicy notes of juniper, liquorice and a vegetal trace reminiscent of moss and fern. The palate confirms the complex texture, evident in a composed tannin and a full, enveloping body. It is a fresh, well-balanced wine with great taste. Difficult to give up such a pearl.
