Montiano 2016 is a refined pure Merlot produced by the renowned Cotarella winery in the volcanic terroir of Tuscia. Grapes from fifteen-year vineyards, harvested by hand and vinified in steel. After passage in barrique, it ages for 12 months. Intense ruby, spicy bouquet of berries and vanilla. Soft and enveloping sip, velvety tannins, harmonious finish. Perfect with red meats and medium-aged cheeses.

Description

Montiano 2016 Cotarella

This refined Merlot comes from the prestigious Cotarella winery, located in the volcanic terroir of Tuscia. The grapes come from fifteen-year-old vineyards located in the municipalities of Montefiascone and Castiglione in Teverina, at 300m above sea level.

The harvest is manual, then fermentation takes place in steel with maceration for approximately 12 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in French oak barriques.

The result is a Merlot with an intense and deep ruby. On the nose it expresses an elegant bouquet of berries, sweet spices and delicate vanilla. In the mouth it is harmonious and enveloping, with soft and velvety tannins. The finish is persistent and balanced. A perfect wine with red meats and medium-aged cheeses.
