The Moscato d'Asti 2022 by Vittorio Bera is a refined interpretation of the renowned aromatic grape variety from Piedmont, crafted with an artisanal approach that maximizes the characteristics of the Moscato Bianco di Canelli. This sweet sparkling wine is perfect for accompanying fruit salads, pastries, and traditional desserts, celebrating the great winemaking tradition of Piedmont.
The grapes used to produce the Moscato d'Asti come from vineyards located in the hilly area of the Canelli municipality, an area renowned for its calcareous marine-origin soils. The vines, averaging twenty years of age, are trained using the Guyot method with a planting density of 5000 vines per hectare. After manual harvesting, the unstemmed grapes are gently pressed, and the free-run juice begins spontaneous fermentation with only indigenous yeasts in stainless steel autoclaves. This process is carefully monitored and halted when the wine reaches an alcohol content of 5.5%, thus retaining a natural residual sugar and a lively effervescence. The wine is then aged in steel before bottling without fining and with light filtration.
Vittorio Bera's Moscato d'Asti presents a bright, clear straw-yellow color in the glass. On the nose, it offers an aromatic bouquet of orange blossom, white flowers, citrus, peach, and white fruit, expressing vibrant and inviting freshness. On the palate, the wine stands out for its delicate sweetness and sparkling liveliness, with a remarkable harmony balancing ripe fruit notes with lively freshness.
