Pecorino Colle Monteverde 2020 Rio Maggio
The 2020 Colle Monteverde Pecorino produced by Rio Maggio is a white wine from the Marche region made from 100% Pecorino grapes, an indigenous variety of the region that has this name because the vineyards were once located along transhumance routes and the farmers of the Marche countryside called it 'vino de li pecuri'.
The vineyard is located at 250 metres above sea level and enjoys a special microclimate due also to the presence of a nearby lake. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, where it remains on the lees for a period of refinement that lasts until March. Once bottled, the wine rests a few months in the bottle before release.
The Colle Monteverde Pecorino 2020 of Rio Maggio expresses a deep straw yellow colour to the eye. The nose expresses aromas of white flowers such as jasmine, white peach and citrus fruits, for a full-bodied and intensely fresh sip that allows it to age a few years in the bottle.
