Percarlo 2016 Magnum San Giusto a Rentennano
Percarlo 2016 is a Tuscan red wine produced by San Giusto a Rentennano. It is made from pure Sangiovese grapes from plants with very low yields, of which the best grapes are selected and partly harvested when over-ripe to allow greater aromatic concentration of the fruit.
Fermentation and maceration take place in cement vats for more than a month, followed by maturation in French oak tonneaux and barriques for 20-22 months. After bottling without filtration, the wine rests for 18 months in the bottle before being released.
Percarlo 2016 shows a ruby red colour with garnet highlights. The nose expresses fruity notes of ripe cherries, spices such as clove and liquorice. The sip is rich and powerful, elegant at the same time. This wine expresses the combination of the austerity of the Chianti terroir with the sweetness of the winery's style.
