Alvaro Gonzalez Marcos is a Spanish artisanal wine producer from Penedès, near Barcelona, the largest wine growing region in Catalonia. His goal is to make lively, authentic wines from healthy grapes.

The company's philosophy is based on highly sustainable biodynamic principles that include manual work in the vineyard and low intervention in the winery: the grapes are harvested strictly by hand, and mostly local varieties are grown (xarel.lo, parellada and ull de llebre). This region is characterised by a Mediterranean climate, where the vines enjoy the proximity of the sea.

The winery is located in a "Masia" (typical Catalan country house) where wine has been produced for more than 400 years. Alvaro's job in the winery is to put the conditions in place for the grapes to become wine in a natural way.
