AMIOT GUY ET FILS
Domaine Guy Amiot et Fils, the world's best white wines
Domaine Guy Amiot et Fils is a historic Burgundy winery in Chassagne-Montrachet, a small commune that, together with Puligny and Meursault, holds the record as the best appellation for white wines in Burgundy. Some of the best white wines in the world are produced here!
The Domaine was founded in 1920, and is now in its third (almost fourth) family generation with Guy Amiot and the help of his son Thierry, who carry on the work based on passion and tradition. The estate is made up of old vines that were planted around the 20's and 30's, which constitute an invaluable heritage: yields are very low and intervention is kept to a minimum, as is the use of any chemical substances.
The vineyards are almost all classified as Grand Cru or 1er Cru in Montrachet, one of the most famous appellations of the côte de Baume. Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet account for five of the seven white Grand Crus in Burgundy. The vines cultivated are the classic Burgundy vines: chardonnay and pinot noir that express themselves here, giving wines of great aromatic concentration and very high quality.
