APOLLONIS
Apollonis, musical Champagne
Michel Loriot founded the company in 1977, together with his wife Martine. He is called "the melomaniac winemaker", as he believes that music can make the plants grow better and thus produce a better wine, so harmonious melodies by Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Mahler and Vivaldi accompany all the various stages of production, from the vineyard to the winery.
Michel manages 7 hectares of vineyards in Festigny, a small village in the Vallée de la Marne and a place with a vocation for the cultivation of pinot meunier, which he grows together with chardonnay and pinot noir. Today, he is also helped in the company by his daughter Marie, an oenologist, and her husband, the production manager.
The company follows principles of sustainable agriculture to produce high quality grapes with typical characteristics and very concentrated aromas. Once the winemaking is finished, Michel gathers with his family to taste the various wines and elaborate the cuvées that will become, to the notes of the most beautiful classical music, Champagne Loriot.
