CLEMENT & FILS
Maison Clément & Fils is a historic winery deeply rooted in family winemaking traditions, initiated by Henri Brulfert at the age of 51. In 1958, Henri decided to produce champagne from his own vineyards, creating Champagne Henri Brulfert. The business was later handed over to his three daughters in 1975, including Anne-Marie. Together with her husband Daniel Clément and their sons Robert and Serge, they founded Champagne Clément & Fils.
The winery maintains a strong connection to artisanal practices, using traditional tools and methods passed down through generations. Every production stage, from bottling to riddling, disgorging to labeling, is done by hand, ensuring meticulous control and unmatched quality.
The vineyard spans 6.5 hectares, mainly located in the Coteaux du Petit Morin in Congy and Coizard-Joches, featuring a variety of soils rich in clay and flint. These terroirs impart a unique complexity to the wines, combining roundness and richness with the typical minerality and salinity of champagne.
The pressing process still uses the traditional press installed by Henri Brulfert in 1958, complemented by a modern COQUARD press. This combination allows for the extraction of fresh, high-quality juice, contributing to the Maison's distinctive "house taste".
The Maison's philosophy is deeply influenced by its farming culture, viewing the soil as a vital partner. The winery adopts sustainable practices and continuously seeks to improve vineyard management to respect the environment and preserve biodiversity. The cuvées are named after endemic plant species, reflecting the connection between soil health and the quality of the wines produced.
