DOMAINE ANGLORE
Domaine de l'Anglore is a small estate of about 10 hectares in the commune of Tavel, a small village in southern France on the western side of the Rhône River, between Avignon and Uzès.
These 10 hectares are joined by a further 2 hectares in the commune of Lirac and a little less on the slopes of Vaunage, between Nimes and Sommières in the Gard department.
The soils are clay and limestone with sandy and rocky structures. At the head of Domaine Anglore is Eric Pfifferling, a friendly winegrower and native of Tavel, a former beekeeper who works his vineyards in a sustainable manner.
The vineyards are mostly planted with Grenache, Clairette, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Bourboulenc and Syrah and are worked according to certified organic farming practices. Harvesting is manual, vinification is whole cluster, in the cellar the wines undergo little manipulation and no chemicals.
At bottling, the wines are not filtered or racked, to leave their natural properties intact. The wines of Eric Pfifferling express all the talent of the producer, who is able to create very elegant wines in a land of slender rosés and powerful reds.
