Domaine Ballorin & Fils is a Burgundy winery located in Morey-Saint-Denis, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. This small and young Domaine is owned by Gilles Ballorin, who decided to embark on his winemaking adventure in 2005, first acquiring 0.20 hectares of land in Chenôve, and then adding another 0.40 hectares of rented land next door.
Today, the winery has a total of 5 hectares spread across the appellations of Marsannay, Fixin, Nuits-Saint-Georges and expanding to Comblanchien, the final part of the Côte de Nuits. In a typical and charming Burgundy setting, Gilles produces his bottles according to biodynamic farming principles, with full respect for the land and nature.
On soils characterised by calcareous soils, rich in skeleton and great permeability, the typical Burgundy vines such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay-Muscaté, Pinot Gris, Pinot Beurot and Gamay are cultivated. The wines thus obtained are the authentic expression of the area from which they originate, vinified with the least possible chemical intervention in the cellar.
