Domaine Barat, elegance and character of Chablis

Domaine Barat is a Chablis winery run by Angèle & Ludovic, who are part of the sixth family generation of winemakers with whom they share a love of their terroir and the know-how passed down from their parents, which gives their Chablis wines personality, elegance and freshness.

The estate has a total of 22 hectares on a terroir composed of calcareous clay on a soil of Kimmeridgian marl, where Chardonnay is grown exclusively, in a terroir highly suited to this grape variety. Here, Chardonnay is able to develop incredible qualities of fragrance, elegance and minerality.

Ludovic uses organic and biodynamic farming methods that respect the environment and nature, including careful soil analysis, organic fertilisation, no chemicals and very low yields. The result is authentic and genuine wines with great elegance, character and terroir.
