Domaine Buronfosse, authentic wines from Jura

The Domaine Buronfosse is a winery in the Jura, based in Rotalier. Agronomist Peggy Lyonnese, who has cared for animals all her life, arrived in this area from Saint Etienne together with her husband Jean Pascal Buronfosse for a working partnership with Jean Francois Ganevat and the Labet family.

In 2002, the couple, in love with this enchanted place between forests and mountains, decided to move there and acquired some vineyards in Rotalier. The Domaine has just 4.5 hectares of vines, of which 2 are owned and the rest are rented, and is managed according to rules based on respect and preservation of the ampelographic heritage of the region, where the climate is very rainy and reduces the already minimal quantities produced by the Domaine. Viticulture follows biodynamic farming principles for the same reason: the must ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, then is moved to whole tonneaux where malolactic fermentation also takes place.

The wines of Domaine Buronfosse are pure expressions of a very special terroir and have met with great success among connoisseurs. Peggy does not stop improving and working with extreme passion towards this land.
