DOMAINE DE LA LOUE
Domaine de la Loue, authentic wines from Jura
Domaine de la Loue is a small winery of just 2.5 hectares in the Jura, specifically located in Port Lesney, 20 km north of Arbois. Interestingly, the winery was founded by Catherine Hannoun, co-producer of Jonathan Nossiter's 2004 film Mondovino, one of the first documentaries to deal with the differences between industrial and natural wine.
After filming, she decided to move to the Jura, where she began working with Emmanuel Houillon, and after some experience, she bought a small property of one and a half hectares in Port Lesney, a small village north of Arbois. Consistent with the topics dealt with in her film, the producer had no doubts about how to shape her production philosophy:
she followed organic farming principles (almost bordering on biodynamic) in the vineyard, ploughed with donkeys and horses, and carried out minimal interventions in the winery. After a few years, she decided to acquire new vineyards in Pupillin, Marnoz, Buffard and Aglepierre, growing savagnin, chardonnay, pinot noir and trosseau.
