DOMAINE DU COULET
Domaine Du Coulet, biodynamic wines from the Rhone Valley
Domaine Du Coulet is a winery in the Rhone Valley, near Cornas, owned by the Barret family. It was acquired by the grandfather of Matthieu, the current owner of the estate, at the end of the Second World War and comprises 20 where typical vines of the area such as syrah, rousanne, marsanne and other types are grown.
Organic farming principles are followed and the biodynamic method since 2002. In this area there is a very predisposed terroir, with excellent exposure of the vines and a particular soil made of very old sedimentary granite rocks that have crumbled to sand.
Mathieu's aim is to produce high quality wines that respect the authenticity of the grapes from which they are made. Their vinifications are minimally invasive to allow the wine to express the best of the vintage and the territory of origin. The main work is done in the vineyard and not in the cellar. I am glad that you have appreciated my suggestions.
