FAZENDA PRADIO
Fazenda Pradio, vini spagnoli alternativi
Fazenda Pradio is a Spanish winery located in the region of Ribeira Sacra in Galicia, surrounded by a peculiar and wild landscape with characteristic terraces overlooking the banks of the Miño river.
The company has 5 hectares of vineyards located at an altitude of 500 m on granite soils, where they grow mainly native vines of the area such as Mencìa, Merenzao, Brancellao, Loureira and Doña Blanca.
The production philosophy is completely centred on the concept of environmental sustainability, so that all practices, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, follow the principles of organic agriculture with the prohibition of using chemical substances, except for minimal levels of sulphur dioxide. Wood and terracotta amphorae are used for ageing.
Xavi Soeanes, who now runs the winery following the traditional principles of the generations that preceded him, harvests the grapes early enough, when they are still fresh and firm, just as his ancestors did two generations ago. The acidity gives the grapes special characteristics for an alternative version of the Ribeira Sacra terroir.
