GIROLAMO RUSSO
Girolamo Russo, the tradition of a volcanic terroir
Girolamo Russo is a Sicilian winery in the Etna area. It spreads over 18 hectares of vineyards growing between 650 and 780 metres above sea level on the northern slope of the volcano, in a wonderful landscape of hazelnut and olive groves.
Giuseppe Russo decided to follow in the family tradition in 2005, following in the footsteps of his father Girolamo, founder of the company, but building his own identity and style.
Thus Giuseppe introduced an organic regime for the cultivation of the vines, according to a production philosophy that respects the environment and is faithful to local traditions. Etna's soil is the result of volcanic eruptions over the centuries, which is why it is so particular and multifaceted.
Each district has its own particularity, which Giuseppe highlights in his labels by vinifying separately the grapes that come from different areas. The wines of the Girolamo Russo winery are faithful expressions of their terroir, elegant and with character.
