Domaine Jean et Jean Louis Trapet, biodynamic wines from Burgundy

Domaine Trapet Père et Fils consists of two estates: one in Burgundy , in the city of Gevrey-Chambertin and one in Alsace . The winery was established when Andrée Trapet inherited the vineyards from her parents in Alsace in 2002.

Her husband Jean-Louis Trapet has been running Domaine Trapet Père et Fils in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1990, when his father Jean succeeded him. The latter property is one of the great historical estates of Côte de Nuits.

The vineyard has 16 hectares (16 acres), dominated by plots of Chambertin (1.9 acres), Latricières-Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin.

Since 1995 the winery follows the principles of biodynamic agriculture, an approach which totally respects the terroir without the use of chemicals and with the minimum human intervention, whereas the aging in the cellar is very slow.
