Jean Fournier, master of biodynamics in Marsannay

Jean Fournier's winery is located in Marsannay-la-Cote in Bourgogne. The winery has almost 18 hectares of vineyards cultivated with pinot noir, of which fifteen hectares on Marsannay-La-Cote and 4.6 hectares destined for 70 percent to chardonnay, 20 percent to aligoté, 5 percent to pinot blanc and the remaining 2.5 percent to other white berried grapes.

Jean Fournier has been running the winery since 2001, even its origins are much older, and he has become a reference in the field of organic wines in the Marsannay area. Since 2008 organic farming principles are followed and the winery is in biodynamic conversion. Vineyards have an average age of more than 50 years, fermentations are spontaneous without the use of sulfites.

Long macerations are done and the aging is done in medium casks for 8 months and in large casks for 12 months. Jean Fournier combines respect for traditions and innovation, continuing to experiment new methods in the vineyard and in the cellar and always focusing on the search for the highest quality of his wines.
