MACCARIO DRINGENBERG
Maccario Dringenberg 's Rossese
Maccario Dringenberg is a small company located on the western border of Liguria, in San Biagio della Cima, a village in the province of Imperia, in a position quite difficult to reach by means of transport.
Leading the company is Giovanna Maccario who, after obtaining her degree in architecture, in 1991 took over the historic family business after the premature death of her father, together with her husband Goetz Dringenberg (hence the name Maccario Dringenberg) .
The small cellar is located right in the center of the town and this requires the manual transport of the grapes from the vineyard, where the harvest is also done manually because the 2.5 hectares of the estate are located in small plots and the Rossese, the grape that gives life to all production labels, it grows in a sapling on steep and difficult to reach terraces.
Boundless passion for this activity and unconditional love for their land lead the spouses Maccario Dringemberg to continue this difficult, almost heroic work, creating pure and interesting labels: starting from their highly respected entry level Rossese di Dolceaqua DOC, up to get to the Luvaira di Rossese di Dolceacqua cru, from vineyards over 100 years old. Among the best and most typical Italian red wines, the Rossese di Dolceacqua Superiore "Posau" should also be mentioned, a wine that has made the cellar famous among enthusiasts from all over Italy and the world.
