Monte dei Ragni, craft wines della Valpolicella

Monte dei Ragni is a small winery in the Veneto region run by the Ragno family, who for five generations have carried on the artisan tradition of producing high quality wines, true pearls of the Valpolicella region. In fact, Monte dei Ragni has become a real reference point for lovers of expressive and territorial artisanal wines, produced using unconventional methods and respecting the environment, far from any market interests.

The name Monte dei Ragni derives from an indication that appeared on a nineteenth-century historical land register, and refers to a small portion of land located in the municipality of Fumane, in the heart of Valpolicella. The company has just 8 hectares of land, of which only 2 are planted with vines while the rest is cultivated with olive trees, cereals, fruit trees and vegetables that grow between the vines. Zeno Zignoli carries out a passionate and meticulous work, avoiding any chemical intervention of synthesis and respecting the biodiversity of the territory.

"Even if I don't produce a bottle of wine, I will always have a living thanks to the animals, the vegetables and the fruit trees scattered in a bunch along the rows" says Zeno, who uses a horse in his agricultural work and is against the practice of weeding. The wines from the Monte dei Ragni winery are produced in very small quantities and are endowed with great quality, territoriality and expressiveness.
