NATACHA CHAVE
Natacha Chave, organic wines from Rhône Valley
Natacha Chave, sister of the famous Rhône Valley winemaker Yann Chave, studied philosophy before following her brother in making wine. The desire to become independent from her family leads Natacha to purchase small plots in Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage, where she begins to make her own wine.
Aléofane, so he called her Domaine: "In the city of the Aleophanes fermented drinks, like wine, are about rare, diabolical and yet curative goods: wine is prescribed to you on medical prescription". His first vintage came out in 2004, after acquiring 1.5 hectares in the Saint-Joseph appellation, while in 2007 he added 5 hectares of 40-year old vines to Crozes-Hermitage, for a total of 6.5 hectares.
Her production philosophy is based on organic farming methods, with minimal use of sulfur and bottling without clarification or filtration. The vineyard is treated exclusively with holistic treatments based on spices, oils and plants, prepared directly by Natacha. The wines of the Domaine Aléofane by Natasha Chave are pure and genuine expressions of Syrah from the Rhône Valley.
