PHILIPPE LANCELOT
Maison Philippe Lancelot
Maison Philippe Lancelot embodies a journey into purity, uniqueness, and the essence of nature—values that define every aspect of its Champagne production. Philippe Lancelot, heir to a family tradition established in the 1970s with the creation of Domaine Champagne Y. Lancelot Wanner, passionately dedicates himself to preserving and interpreting the richness of the family’s unique terroir, located in the prestigious villages of Cramant, Avize, Chouilly, Oiry, Epernay, and Ay.
A Philosophy Rooted in Nature
Philippe’s motto, “Nature is well made, there is surely nothing better than nature,” is at the core of the Maison. The biodynamic approach, adopted across all parcels since 2012, is a tangible expression of this belief. Achieving AB Ecocert certification in 2014, followed by Demeter in 2015 and Biodyvin in 2020, underscores the Maison’s unwavering commitment to sustainable and respectful viticulture.
The Art of Showcasing Terroir
Philippe aims to understand and highlight the DNA of each vineyard, creating cuvées that fully represent the identity of their terroir and vintage. Each harvest becomes an opportunity for Philippe to experiment and craft unique wines, driven by the philosophy of “parcelles et coups de cœur.”
The packaging itself tells a story, illustrating Philippe’s personal connection with each cuvée, an emotional journey reflected in every label.
Collaboration and Innovation
Since 2009, Philippe has worked alongside Hervé Jestin, a highly experienced winemaker, to refine winemaking techniques. By striving for optimal grape ripeness and minimizing or eliminating sulfites—with sulfur-free winemaking introduced in 2015—the wines achieve extraordinary luminosity and verticality.
Naturally Balanced Wines
The wines of Maison Philippe Lancelot achieve natural balance in the cellar, rendering significant dosage unnecessary. This minimalist approach allows the terroir’s authenticity and the raw material’s purity to shine, offering Champagne that radiates joy, fulfillment, and brilliance.
Maison Philippe Lancelot is not just a Champagne producer; it is a true celebration of nature and its perfection.
