PHILIPPE LIVERA DOMAINE DES TILLEULS
Domaine Livera, the talent of a young Burgundian vigneron
Domaine Livera is a great interpreter of the terroir of Gevrey-Chambertin, in Burgundy. Formerly called Domaine des Tilleuls, Domaine Philippe Livera consists of 8 hectares planted mainly with Pinot Noir, on vineyards all located in the Côte de Nuits around the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation.
Today, in the fourth generation of the family, it is Damien Livera who runs the estate with his sister Hélène, and he has quickly established himself as one of the best young winemakers in the Côte de Nuits and his bottles are in great demand. The success of Domaine Livera is due to its attention to respecting the unique terroir of Gevrey. Damien Livera is fortunate to bottle great Burgundy wines and in particular a grand cru from Gevrey-Chambertin, a Chapelle-Chambertin.
The rest of the range consists of Village appellations such as: Gevrey-Chambertin, Fixin and Côtes de Nuits. Their wines are faithful expressions of the terroir, obtained from spontaneous vinification, aged in oak barrels for 11 to 18 months, and are characterised by depth and finesse, with fine tannins and a great capacity for ageing.
