PREVOST
Jérôme Prévost, master of pinot meunier
Jérôme Prévost is a producer from Avize, in the Reims Mountains, who became a reference point for his modern and visionary vision of producing Champagne. In the 1980's Jérôme started to take care of the family vineyard selling for ten years the grapes to négociants, until he met Selosse who will radically change his point of view and he will start making wine by himself, following the advices of the great master. From the only vineyard he owns of about 2 hectares (about 5 acres) which is located on a calcareous soil, the producer decided to enhance Pinot Meunier, a less renowned and more "rustic" grape variety of the three of Champagne, bringing it to incredible levels of quality and elegance. The Champagne range of the winery is composed by only two labels, both obtained by pure Pinot Meunier from a single plot, without any dosage: Blanc de Noirs La Closerie Les Béguines and Rosé La Closerie Fac-Simile.
