SCIACCA
Emilio Sciacca etna wines
Sciacca company was born in 2015 from an ancient cellar called "Palmento La Martinella", located at 600 m. amsl, on the north-east side of Etna, in the territory of the municipality of d Linguaglossa, in the homonymous Martinella district.
In 2015 the entrepreneur Emilio Sciacca, a scholar and wine lover, falls in love with this abandoned farmhouse and decides to buy and restructure it to start his production activity. In 2018 the first harvest comes out from which the only three labels of the company come to life, all under the Etna DOC denomination: one white (Biancopiglio) and two red (Rossobrillo and Neromagno) from native grapes of the Etna area such as Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio for the reds; Carricante, Catarratto, Grecanico and others for the white wines, for a total of 2 hectares of vineyards which are followed with care and attention in all stages of production.
The work, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, is made with total respect for nature, a fundamental aspect on which Emilio Sciacca's production philosophy is based: all treatments are based on sulfur and copper and where necessary, green manure or organic fertilizers are used. The harvest is manual, without artificial irrigation, it expects nature to run its course. In the cellar fermentations are spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, without filtering or clarification, the use of plastic is also prohibited. These attentions together with the great passion for wine have led this small reality to become a new reference point in the panorama of Etna wines. Invia commenti Cronologia Salvate Community.
