SERGIO MOTTURA
Sergio Mottura is a winery in Lazio, located in Civitella D'Agliano in the province of Viterbo, in a particularly favourable area bordered to the west by the hills and clayey gullies of Civitella d'Agliano and to the east by the Umbrian plain washed by the Tiber.
The Mottura family has been running the winery since 1933, and since the 1960s it has been run by Sergio Mottura, who is credited with renewing it through new plantings in the vineyard and cellar, always paying great attention to safeguarding the surrounding environment.
Today, the company has a total of 36 hectares under vine, where mainly indigenous vines of the area such as Grechetto, Procanico, Verdello and Drupeggio, which grow on volcanic and mineral soils, are cultivated.
Sergio Mottura follows organic farming principles in order to respect nature as much as possible and to obtain genuine, territorial and high quality wines. It is no coincidence that he chose the porcupine as the company's symbol: it is an animal that can only live in uncontaminated environments, where the natural balance is respected.
