J. de Telmont, fine Champagne

J. de Telmont is a historic and renowned Champagne company, located in the heart of the Route de Champagne. The history of the Maison began with Henry L'Hopital in 1912, a visionary and intuitive landowner, who decided to produce Champagne under his own name. At that time, however, Champagne was not popular and sales were limited. His son André turned the business around by purchasing several plots of vines in the best crus of the region, thus the Champagne house J. De Telmont was born.

Serge L'Hopital, the third generation, gave new impetus to the production and marketing of his Champagnes, which became famous throughout the world. Thanks to him, the company moved from the centre of the village to its current location at 1 Avenue de Champagne in Damery. The heirs of the fourth generation are Bertrand and Pascale, who have given the company a new lease of life by following the traditional principles handed down by their predecessors but introducing biodynamic production methods.

These methods respect the vineyard and the environment, waiting for nature to do its work. This type of approach is very demanding to implement, but raises the quality levels of the Maison. Champagne Telmont is produced with the utmost attention to all production steps, an interesting story that combines tradition, authenticity, modernism and wisdom. Years of hard work in the vineyards and in the cellar have enabled Maison De Telmont to be ranked among the top 20 internationally recognised Champagne companies.
