VINCENT BROCHET
Vincent Brochet, authentic Champagne of Ecueil
The Maison Vincent Brochet is located in Ecueil, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims in Champagne, and has very ancient origins dating back to 1700. Today it covers 14 hectares of vineyards spread over three villages, all classified as Premier Cru: Ecueil, Villers-aux-Noeuds and Sacy.
The winery's philosophy is based on traditional winemaking that respects the environment, where the use of any chemical substance is banned, work in the vineyard is done manually and the grapes are harvested when they are fully ripe to avoid adding sugar. In the cellar, non-invasive techniques are used, fermentation is spontaneous, using only indigenous yeasts and takes place in 228-litre fûts de chêne (oak barrels), while efforts are made to ensure that malolactic fermentation does not develop, to give the wine greater freshness. After fermentation, the base wines mature for 9 months on the lees in the barrels before bottling and subsequent re-fermentation in the bottle.
The result of this work gives life to Champagnes of great class and quality, authentic liquids that reflect the terroir of origin in a pure way and without artifice.
