Ribolla Gialla 2017 Radikon
Ribolla Radikon is produced from grapes of the variety of the same name grown organically in the hills around Oslavia, a small hamlet of Gorizia. The vineyard approach of the Radikon winery prohibits any kind of chemical intervention, in full respect of nature and terroir.
The story of Ribolla Gialla Radikon begins with the manual harvesting of the grapes followed by spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts. After fermentation, the must remains in contact with the skins for a maceration period of about 4 months and is then left to age for a further 40 months in oak barrels. The wine is neither filtered nor clarified and is bottled without the addition of sulphur dioxide.
Ribolla Gialla appears in the glass in a very intense orange colour, the nose is complex with an intensity of aromas that is surprising, hints of ripe fruit, spices, dried flowers and ethereal notes alternate. In the mouth it is deep and intense, full-bodied and savoury with a persistence that seems never-ending.
An extreme wine to try at least once in a lifetime..
