Riesling “Clos Saint Urban” Grand Cru 2012 Domaine Zind Humbrecht

Riesling "Clos Saint Urban" Grand Cru 2012 is a fine white wine from Alsace produced by Domaine Zind Humbrecht. It is made from grapes from the renowned Grand Cru vineyard "Clos Saint Urban" using biodynamic farming techniques, from a somewhat difficult but very special terroir formed by volcanic rocks, exposed to the south and with a very high gradient.

This complex terroir gives the wine a great minerality, evident both on the nose and in the mouth, and a great propensity to age. To the eye it shows a luminous golden yellow colour, while on the nose the Riesling Clos Saint Urban 2012 offers a layered and aromatic bouquet of yellow fruit, flowers, honey, spices and smoky and mineral notes.

The palate is well balanced between freshness and smoothness, savoury and mineral with a very long finish. A great Riesling to pair with well-structured dishes and blue cheeses.

VINIFICATION: Slow fermentation with indigenous yeasts in large, untoasted oak barrels. Maturation for several months on the fine lees in large fermentation oak barrels, depending on the vintage.
