Riesling Marienburg Falkenlay GG 2017 Clemens Busch
Clemens Busch's 2017 Marienburg Falkenlay Riesling is made from 100% Rielsing from the Falkenlay vineyard, considered one of the best terroirs in the area. The soils for Falkenlay are composed of gray slate and the vines are between 70 and 100 years old.
The name comes from the fact that hawks nest in the cracks of the stone in this area, which is particularly protected from wind. Made using biodynamic viticultural methods, the wine is fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, at low temperatures, in very old 1000 liter barrels, while it ages for 10 months on the lees in used oak barrels with a minimal amount of sulfur at bottling and nothing else.
The nose is intensely floral, with candied yellow fruit and hints of red berries. The sip is dominated by the typical freshness and sapidity of Rielsing.
