Riesling Schlossberg Grand Cru 2016 Bott-Geyl
Schlossberg Grand Cru 2016 is a fine wine produced in Alsace by the Domaine Bott-Geyl. With a good depth that is popular with high-end Riesling enthusiasts, this wine, produced according to biodynamic methodology, has an incredible predisposition to aging and we have to spend about 15-20 years in the cellar its potential.
This unique variety cuvée comes from its homonymous hill, at a track of 200-300 meters. The vines are grown on granite soil in a terroir with excellent mineral fertility. The 2016 Schlossberg Grand Cru has a crystalline straw yellow color with intense golden reflections. The scents of fruit are perceptible on the nose, in particular a fresh and juicy apple, and a marked minerality.
The sip is pleasantly frescoed and animated by the liveliness of the apple that we find, amplified by the lemon zest and a light note of spiced honey. A wine that is alive and deep but still in its early stages, will fully develop its enormous potential after a few years spent in the cellar. Versatile combination with fish and shellfish dishes, where the minerality of this Riesling goes well with the iodized flavor of the fish. It is also good to accompany white meat dishes and goat cheeses.
