Ron Dos Maderas PX 5+5
The Ron Dos Maderas PX from Williams & Humbert is produced using a particular dual aging process. It is first aged for 5 years in American oak barrels used for bourbon maturation, and then spends another 5 years in Spanish oak barrels that previously held Pedro Ximenez Sherry.
This method gives the rum a complex and refined character, with rich flavors of spices, nuts and notes of dark chocolate and vanilla.
The color is an intense amber tending towards copper red, typical of well-matured rums.
When smelling it you perceive truly rich aromas: toasted bread, roasted nuts like hazelnuts and walnuts, sweet spices like cinnamon and cloves, balsamic notes, tobacco, dark chocolate, honey and vanilla.
When tasting it you perceive intense flavors of roasted and sweet dried fruit, like figs and dates, chocolate, sweet spices, vanilla and slightly balsamic notes. The alcohol content of 40% is well balanced and does not mask the complex aromas of the rum.
The finish is very long and rich, with the spicy and nutty notes that persist for a long time together with the balsamic sensations and dark chocolate.
